About Us

Welcome!

You are on the membership site for the Oaks III Home Owners’ Association in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

The Oaks III HOA is an organization guided by elected volunteers from the neighborhood and dedicated to maintaining the quality of the community.

Out of collected dues, we pay for improvements that benefit our Association in various ways.

We also organize social events, provide a secure directory to members, serve as a vehicle for notification of important community issues, and provide a structure for the neighborhood to respond to problems that arise from time to time.

Member Benefits

  • Members will have access to a Directory of Oaks III members who choose to join, sorted by name and address. This Directory helps maintain communication and supports a sense of community in our neighborhood. This information is never shared.
  • Members will get contacted if there is news of special interest or importance. For example, members receive emails regarding future road closures and safety notices or a message of a recent burglary. If you do not wish to recieve these emails you may opt out when you register.
  • Homeowners Association revenue, through the collection of annual dues, is primarily used to pay for social events, administrative costs, as well as to maintain and enhance common areas.  Any revenue collected for architecture review is used for administrative costs and the hiring of external consultants if required.
  • In addition to the Directory, the Homeowners Association holds an Annual HOA meeting and tries to organize a summer event or Holiday party in December if there is interest. The Association Social Committee organizes these events.
  • The Homeowners Association is charged to enforce our restrictive covenants and Association Bylaws and can act on members’ behalf if a neighborhood issue arises.

A Letter from the HOA President

Greetings Oaks III HOA Members,

Please know that our HOA serves all of us. To bring us closer together as neighbors, protect our mutual interests, serve as an avenue for social interaction, and maintain our neighborhood according to our restrictive covenants that apply to all homeowners regardless of dues-paying status.

My immediate goals are to increase transparency and ensure that our HOA adheres to our written By-Laws. My other priority is to position the HOA to fill all the vacancies on the Board most fairly and transparently.

My longer-term goals include:

  • Increasing our voting membership (dues-paying members).
  • Revitalizing our social activities after two years of lockdown.
  • Welcoming new residents.
  • A complete overhaul of our website
  • Print a member directory
  • Create an Oaks III Google Groups (ListServ)
  • Maintaining a close eye on the future development of the DuBose property.
  • As all the Board positions fill, we will have additional ideas and priorities moving forward. And, of course, your views and input are always welcome.

As the Board positions fill, we will have additional ideas and priorities moving forward. And, of course, your views and input are always encouraged.

I look forward to this new chapter and to seeing as many of you as possible.

Kind regards,

Aaron Meadows, Oaks III HOA President
